Power Wash Simulator 2 — The Joy of Cleaning Never Gets Old

When Power Wash Simulator first launched in early access back in 2021, it offered a unique experience that caught the community by surprise. Its simple premise cleaning with a power washer turned out to be oddly therapeutic, especially during a time when many were looking for distractions amid pandemic lockdowns. Over the years, the game became one of the most popular simulators on the market. Now, four years later, the sequel arrives promising to capture that same magic once again.

Overall, Power Wash Simulator 2 succeeds in its mission. It improves upon the original formula thanks to a new graphics engine and more dynamic levels. The gameplay remains faithful to its roots: using a pressure washer to clean different surfaces, from vehicles and parks to mansions, barns, and public restrooms. The title offers a total of 38 missions that will keep players engaged for hours.

The game introduces new features, such as a floor-cleaning attachment that makes many jobs easier and can be used on various surfaces. Soap also makes a return, but this time it’s unlimited. While this simplifies tougher stains, it’s balanced by a gauge that refills slowly, preventing constant use.

Beyond these additions, there aren’t many new mechanics. However, players can now customize their own shop with furniture, carpets, and other purchasable decorations. A new cosmetic system for the character has also been added thankfully, without microtransactions.

Visually, the leap is impressive thanks to Unreal Engine 5, which enables realistic reflections, improved lighting, and stunning visual detail when comparing dirty versus clean surfaces. While the art style still leans toward the cartoonish, the end result is highly satisfying.

The biggest drawback is the lack of a proper soundtrack or ambient sound effects. The constant noise of water and cleaning indicators can become monotonous after a while. It’s best to play with your own music or a podcast in the background to avoid repetition. Additionally, the customization feature, while a nice idea, feels too limited to add meaningful value.

Despite these minor flaws, Power Wash Simulator 2 delivers a solid and relaxing experience. That same satisfying feeling of completing a cleaning job remains its greatest strength. If you’re looking for a game to unwind while still feeling productive, this sequel absolutely delivers.

Final Score: 4/5
