Gaming in 2025 will be pressing hard on innovation

As we are already at first half of the first month of 2025, I think is time to bring up the notion that the gaming industry is poised for a transformative year filled with groundbreaking advancements and exciting trends. From cloud gaming to virtual reality, mobile gaming to artificial intelligence, the landscape of gaming is evolving rapidly, promising gamers an unparalleled experience.

Let’s delve deeper into each aspect with supporting data and trends that highlight this evolution.

1. Rise of Cloud Gaming

Cloud gaming is expected to revolutionize the way we play games by eliminating the need for high-end hardware. According to a report by Newzoo, the cloud gaming market was valued at approximately $1.6 billion in 2021 and is projected to grow to $6.5 billion by 2025. This growth is driven by the widespread adoption of 5G technology, which provides the necessary bandwidth and low latency required for a seamless gaming experience.

Services like NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Cloud (formerly Project xCloud) are at the forefront, offering expansive libraries of titles that can be streamed to various devices including smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs. This accessibility is democratizing gaming, making it more inclusive for a broader audience.

…And yes, in an alternate universe, Google Stadia leaded this segment of the gaming industry as even after its demise, its tech stack remains unmatched and DO NOT CHANGE MY MIND!

2. More Immersive Virtual Reality

Honestly, I am not into Virtual reality (VR) but of course, I will not ignore that this segment of the gaming industry continues to push the boundaries of immersive gaming.

The global VR gaming market was valued at $11.56 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach $92.31 billion by 2027, according to Grand View Research. This exponential growth is fueled by advancements in VR headsets such as the Oculus Quest 2 and the PlayStation VR2, which offer enhanced graphics, more intuitive controls, and improved comfort. Developers are leveraging these advancements to create rich, interactive stories and social experiences that allow players to explore virtual worlds together.

Titles like “Half-Life: Alyx” and “Star Wars: Squadrons” showcase the potential of VR to deliver deeply engaging narratives and gameplay. As VR technology continues to evolve, we can anticipate even more innovative and immersive experiences.

3. On the Rise: Mobile Gaming

Despite my admittedly original dislike on how he mobile gaming gained momentary a front seat ahead of console and PC gaming in the previous decade and how embarrasing its was “the leadership” (thanks for nothing people like Konami), but data suggest that the sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by the increasing power of smartphones and the release of high-quality titles.

According to a report by App Annie, mobile gaming revenue reached $98 billion in 2021, surpassing both console and PC gaming.

In 2025, this trend is expected to continue with the release of games like the BETA of “Destiny Rising ” and “Need for Speed Mobile,” which offer console-quality experiences on handheld devices. The convenience of playing games on the go, combined with the accessibility of smartphones, ensures that mobile gaming remains a dominant force in the industry.

4. Integration of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is in indeed a “11 bullet shirt” of a topic depending on who you are talking about it, but it indeed transforming the gaming landscape by enhancing gameplay mechanics and creating more dynamic environments.

AI-driven non-playable characters (NPCs) are becoming more sophisticated, capable of reacting to player actions in real-time and providing more realistic interactions. According to a study by PwC, the AI market in gaming is projected to grow from $3 billion in 2020 to $87 billion by 2025.

This growth is driven by the demand for personalized gaming experiences, where AI tailors challenges and content to individual players’ preferences and skill levels. Games like “Red Dead Redemption 2” and “The Last of Us Part II” demonstrate the potential of AI to create immersive and engaging worlds.

5. Esports Expansions

In my blog, I will try to covert a little bit more of Esports as a FGC competitor myself and while some view that the 2010’s explosive growth reached its peak, some view that a ressurgance is being observed, taking in account on millions of viewers and participants worldwide.

The global esports market was valued at $1.1 billion in 2021 despite the break that the recent pandemic of 2020 brought, and is projected to reach $1.9 billion by 2025, according to a report by Newzoo.

This growth is fueled by the increasing popularity of competitive gaming and the rise of mobile and cloud gaming platforms, which provide greater accessibility for players. Major tournaments, leagues, and sponsorships are emerging, contributing to the expansion of the esports ecosystem. Esports is not just a form of entertainment; it’s a cultural movement that brings people together from all corners of the globe.

As we look ahead to 2025, the gaming industry is on the brink of a new era of innovation and immersion. With advancements in cloud gaming, virtual reality, mobile gaming, artificial intelligence, and esports, gamers can expect an exciting and dynamic year ahead. Whether you’re a casual player or a hardcore gamer, there’s never been a better time to be part of the gaming community.

Game-Changing GPUs Unveiled at CES 2025! AMD Ryzen vs. Nvidia GeForce

In today’s video, we’re diving into the game-changing GPU announcements from CES 2025. AMD and Nvidia are head-to-head with their latest innovations. Discover the incredible power of AMD Ryzen processors and Radeon GPUs, as well as Nvidia’s cutting-edge GeForce RTX series. Whether you’re a gamer, content creator, or tech enthusiast, this showdown is for you!

Author’s note:

Hello muñaños and my apologies, I honestly didn’t have any issues with the raw version of this video but I guess I need to avoid using some “glitch” transition and double check assets before adding them for a video, but at least the important images with the relevant data when good in most parts, so that is my sign of relief and I will take it as “today’s Monday”.

(Sidenote: Ironically, this was exported with a Radeon 7900 GRE, which I thought it could handle glitch transition of DaVinci Resolve better than a mobile GTX GeForce 1660 Ti, but I guess those advance features and effect are for Radeon 7900 XTX/Geforce 4080 and up.)

GG and thanks for the opportunity!

Merry Christmas and Happy Gaming New Year 2025!

Good morning, Muñaños.

Unfortunately, I need to extend my forced AFK for a while longer.

As I mentioned a few days ago, I fell seriously ill, worse than I have in years, mainly with breathing issues. Although I am feeling much better now, I’m still not 100%. I easily get fatigued, short of breath, and constantly feel tired and drowsy.

It’s clear that I’m not in a condition to stream properly. I know my Resident Evil walkthrough has been inconsistent and lengthy, but at this time, I need to focus on fully recovering. Since it’s Christmas week, I don’t think taking a break until the start of 2025 will further harm my already shaky consistency.

This break also applies to on-demand content, as I can’t do voiceovers right now. I was in the middle of editing a special project from my trip to NY, but I’ll likely resume that before deciding on a new return-to-stream date.

Stay tuned to my blog GeeZusGG.xyz for gaming news, information, and some original editorials over the next few days.

Finally, I hope you’re all having a great week. Merry Christmas and Happy Gaming New Year!

GG!

I guess that this gamer and blogger needed to get back to its roots

It’s, short, but the first of many editorials to come and how about breaking the ice on actually talking about what I mentioned on 11/19/24’s stream?

I’m excited to share some big news and if you couldn’t tell already: I’m returning to blogging!

For those of you who’ve been following my gaming content, you know how passionate I am about sharing my experiences and insights with the community. Blogging has always been a special place for me, I am a blogger since I discovered the Internet, but it was after 2010 that I made it in a pro, freelancing way.

From there, it was Black Berry Puerto Rico, Esmandau, Qiibo, GGs and a first attempt on my own blog 100% mine, I guess that it would not hurt try it one more time, this time as a second stint 100% my own again.

I’m committed to maintaining my gaming content creation, but I believe that blogging offers a unique opportunity to expand my creative horizons. I’m looking forward to sharing a mix of gaming-related posts, personal essays, and other topics that I’m passionate about.

I’m still figuring out the exact format and frequency of my blog posts, but I promise to keep you updated as I develop my plans. In the meantime, I’m eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

Thank you for your continued support. I can’t wait to embark on this new chapter with you!

Ending my gaming live streaming hiatus

Hello, my muñaños gamers, never say never!

I guess it was just a matter of time if some of you had already figured out the teases that I had been publishing on my social media channels for a while. But I am officially ending my self-imposed gaming live streaming hiatus & I will be simulcasting on both Trovo and YouTube, with maybe occasionally a third stream with Zap Stream powered by the Nostr protocol (experimenting), beginning somewhere between April and May 2024.

But first, I want to test the waters on monday, 03/25/2024, before committing to an official date and schedule.

I will discuss whether my Tekken 8 Winter Clash 2024 tournament performance was good, bad, or average (no Zap streaming here).

With that being said, if things move positively, Trovo will be my main channel for exclusive streaming, like special events, by request (depending on who asks), intra-promoted, etc.

Why Trovo? Well, considering the self-implosion of Twitch and the somewhat predictable end of the honeymoon phase that half of the Internet had with Kick, and my love/hate relationship with YouTube, I want and need to do something different than what everybody else is doing, avoiding the cursed bandwagons.

And honestly, this is not my first venture with Trovo. Back in 2021, Trovo was one of my four simulcasting channels along with Twitch, Facebook Gaming, and YouTube. I thought it was a good decision to delete my presence on Trovo mid-2022, so I have a pretty good idea of how the experiment could go, whether it’s good, average, or bad.

Also, I noticed since 2021 that I made some awareness from Trovo. Despite not being a regular, I am followed by them on X, and I hope that this could mean a new business partnership in the near future. But of course, I am not daydreaming and will not be frustrated if nothing happens.

As for the YouTube channel, I think that I will keep on-demand long-form content on gaming commentary/podcast, Shorts on gaming quickies, random things, and gameplay exclusive to live streaming. But I will be pausing the podcast (not a long-term hiatus) as I plan a better schedule that could mean less frequency but more context-filled episodes, especially if I am still a one-man band.

Like always, family and self-wellbeing always come first, no negotiation.

GG!
